The Sawkill Together Party

About one third of the voters in our Town do not affiliate with either major political party. The Sawkill Together Party represents a new pathway for civic engagement beyond traditional party lines. Local politics is about getting things done—it's about ensuring the trash is picked up, that potholes get filled, and that our forests and rivers stay clean. Lots of voters recognize that these pragmatic concerns don't need to involve sectarian politics but still want to have their voices heard on the issues that directly affect them.

The Sawkill Together party allows people who are not registered as Democrats to participate in the democratic process by signing petitions for candidates to get on the ballot (if you have not already signed a petition for the Democratic party). During the general election, you may choose to vote for our candidates on either the Democratic or Sawkill Together line—you will not split the ticket by voting on the Sawkill Together line.
