Vote!

With fewer than a thousand people in our town, and a fairly equal number of Democrats and Republicans, every vote truly counts—especially in “odd-numbered years,” when there isn’t a large state or national election.

The fact of the matter is, conservative voters usually turn out in higher numbers for local elections. The most important thing you can do to elect Democrats in the Town of Kingston is vote!

Run for Office

As of now, the Town Board leans Republican. In the 2023 election, the Democratic Committee did not field a candidate for these offices.

We can’t elect Democrats unless we have Democrats to vote for! Do you think you have what it takes to run for public office? Let us know!

Volunteer

Help us get Democrats elected! By knocking on doors, making phone calls, writing post cards, or putting up yard signs, you can make a big difference in making sure your Democratic friends and neighbors get to the polls on Election Day.

Even if you don’t want to talk to strangers, there are plenty of ways to help out! If you want to get involved, drop us a line.

Donate

Of course, sometimes at the end of the day there’s no replacement for cold, hard American currency.

The Town of Kingston Democratic Committee is entirely volunteer run; everything we do is paid for out-of-pocket by its members and we do not receive funds from any hand-wavy “National Chapter.” Your donation could help offset costs such as printing stickers, pins, and signs; renting equipment for events; and maintaining this website.

Go to Town Board Meetings

Are you interested in learning more about the inner workings of your town government? Do you want to be kept informed about what is happening in the Town of Kingston? Do you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your community? Come to Town Board meetings! Your Town Board members are here to serve you! You have an opportunity to speak directly to them each month to make your voice heard. See below for a description of each meeting. All meetings are open to the public.

Town Board Meetings: Held on the first Wednesday of every month, these meetings provide citizens with a monthly overview of the work performed by Town elected officials and certain appointed employees. Reports are provided by the Town Supervisor, Town Clerk, each Town Councilperson, the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer, Highway Superintendent, and Town Historian. Additionally, the Town Board will bring motions and resolutions to the floor for a vote. Feel free to ask a question or make a comment.

Town Workshop Meetings: Held on the third Wednesday of every month, at these meetings the Town Board comes together to discuss the issues and affairs of the town, brainstorm ideas and solutions, and to bring motions and resolutions to the floor for a vote. Feel free to ask a question or make a comment.
